“We need a store” often means “we need to take orders.” Those are different scopes. A store is a site with a catalog people can find. A bot is a channel for people who already buy the same thing again.
When you need a store
Many SKUs, filters, delivery, payment on the site, category pages of their own. Those pages can rank. A bot will not replace them for “buy …” queries: it has no public URL per product.
When a bot is enough
A narrow catalog, repeat orders, a customer who is already in Telegram. Catalog, cart, a ping to the manager. Ten items and one city ship faster than a storefront with an account area.
A hybrid
A short site with the offer and a few products, plus “order in Telegram”. The site brings new people, the bot keeps regulars. Do not stand up two checkouts in the first month: pick where the order lives and leave the other door as a link.
How to decide in a week
- A dozen items and one city — a bot
- Hundreds of items and nationwide delivery — a store
- You need both search and repeat orders — a window plus one messenger flow
The minimum for an order bot — the note on launch. When buttons run out — the note on a Mini App. The storefront frame — the note on landing structure.
